Security arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra underway: CRPF official

The CRPF is making preparations to provide safety for the annual Amarnath Yatra, an officer that is senior on Tuesday.

The yatra to the cave shrine of Lord Shiva situated at a height of 3,880 meters in Kashmir in the south Himalayas is likely to come in June.

“Whether you can find elections or the Amarnath Yatra, we now have started preparations for whatever arrangements must be fulfilled,” Inspector General, CPRF (Kashmir Operations), M S Bhatia told reporters in Pulwama.

“Our endeavor will be to remain alert whatever the event is, be it elections or yatra. Strict plans will undoubtedly be made for order and law, and security,” he said.

While Bhatia did maybe not mention which elections, panchayat, and polls being municipal Jammu and Kashmir are due this year.
