Punjab class Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Saturday said the division has set a standard by enrolling over one lakh students in a single day.
The minister said that on the first day of an admission that is unique, the mark of enrolling one lakh new students in government schools has been accomplished.
The department has recorded 1,00,298 admissions during the campaign organized between 8 am to 10 pm, Bains said Friday.
”The enthusiasm could be gauged from the fact even once the server of the web site that is departmental down, the admission work proceeded till late at night,” the minister said in a declaration, adding that numerous students for a big scale have shifted in government schools from personal schools.
He said that district Fatehgarh Sahib registered 134.6 % admissions up against the target, while pupils in Ferozepur, Barnala, Amritsar, Bathinda, Kapurthala, Patiala, SBS Nagar, Malerkotla, Fazilka, Tarn Taran and Sangrur also enrolled in federal government schools in lots that are high.
